Naturally, materials and production methods used have changed greatly over the years. But one thing has remained the same: When it comes to quality, the company from Malters, Switzerland does not compromise. 50 employees produce 50,000 skis per year. “During weekly tours of the production facility, people get a much better idea about just how much work is done by hand. Guests on the tour witness the various steps taken to produce a finished product,” explains Ski-Expert Markus Fiegl of Sporthütte. During a test event, he became acquainted with four-time World Champion and two-time Olympic Champion Tina Maze from Slovenia. The former ski-racing star is amongst Stöckli’s most famous personalities. The self-confident message, “We build championship skis,” is evidenced by an additional testimonial: German Olympic Champion Viktoria Rebensburg won three Giant Slaloms during the 2017/18 World Cup season. A total of 24 international athletes in various disciplines such as downhill, giant slalom and slalom place their trust in these top products originating from the Swiss Canton of Luzern.
In the mid 1930s, when Josef Stöckli produced his first skis for personal use, he had no idea what would one day come of this first step. Soon enough, friends and acquaintances became increasingly interested in his winter sporting goods. Five years later in 1935, he founded Stöckli AG. Today, this company remains Switzerland’s only ski producer, boasting the coveted “Swiss Made” label.
Winter-sports enthusiasts of every ability level profit from the perfection demanded by pros. From design to manufacture, all production steps take place in Switzerland. Thanks to this philosophy, the models offered by Stöckli continually land the top spots in respected comparison tests. For instance, in the “World Ski Test” 2017/18 rankings that included representatives such as Olympic champion Franz Klammer, the “Stöckli Laser SL” was first in its category and was deemed “Outstanding. A Clear Best Buy.”
